Employ Autism
This is our regional programme that supports employers to run paid internships for autistic people. We can provide:
Training for key members of staff, a total of up to 6 hours content delivered online, or in person when possible (details below).
Promotion of the vacancy/ies to our networks to encourage applicants
Support to develop recruitment practices to build a more inclusive and diverse workplace
Cost: Our support is offered at zero-cost when an internship is offered. We require the employer to pay the intern’s salary for the duration of the placement.
Youth Participation
All our work is co-produced with autistic young people. Our free Ambitious Youth Network offers autistic young people the chance to connect with their peers, consult on projects and influence our work.
Here are some video resources our youth network have produced.
The Include Autism toolkit was created by our young people for developing inclusive youth groups and communities.
The Know Your Normal toolkit aims to help young people understand what their physical and mental health normal is.
The Transition to employment toolkit has been designed to help more autistic young people access sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities.
The resources will help employers to develop their awareness and understanding of autism. They will support the hiring and retaining of talented autistic young people.
These resources are also relevant for autistic young people, their parents/carers, teachers, and other relevant professionals to support a young person to make informed choices about their future employment opportunities.
